Converting Decimal Fractions to Decimal Numbers

To convert decimal fractions to decimal numbers follow the given steps.

Step 1: Count the number of zeros in the denominator.
                                                                                  Remember
Step 2: Write the numerator and starting from right, put
the decimal point before as many digits as there are A fraction whose
                                                                                   denominator is 10, 100,
zeros in the denominator. If the denominator has 1,000 etc. is known as a
more zeros than the digits in the numerator, then decimal fraction.
write zeros after the decimal to equate the number
                    of digits.

            Converting Decimal Numbers to Fractions

To convert decimal numbers to fractions follow the given steps.
Step 1: Write the decimal number without the decimal point as the numerator.

Step 2: Write 1 followed by as many zeros as the number of digits in the decimal part as
                    the denominator.

            Example 4: Convert (a) 0.8, (b) 0.95, (c) 0.096 and (d) 7.24 to fractions.
                                        8 95
            Solution: (a) 0.8 = (b) 0.95 =
                                       10 100

                            (c) 0.096 = (d) 7.24 =
