Lines
A shape is made up of lines. Lines can be straight or curved. A straight line can
be horizontal, ver cal or slan ng.
You Should Know
• All the letters in the English alphabet are made up of either
straight or curved lines joined together.
• Triangle, square and rectangle are made up of straight lines.
• Circle is made up of a curved line.
Straight and Curved Lines
Pick up a skipping rope. Hold it from both ends and stretch it ghtly.
This is a straight line.
Now loosen the rope a li le.
This is a curved line. These are also curved lines.
Raise one end of the rope and stretch it ghtly.
This is a slan ng line.
It is also a straight line.
