13 Elephants
Elephants are big! They are the biggest animals that live on land. They have
long noses called trunks. They have big ears that can flap like fans. Their
skin is grey-black. They have some short hair on their backs and tails.
Elephants live in Africa and Asia. They live on grasslands and in forests.
An elephant from Asia is smaller. It has smaller ears. An elephant from
Africa is larger than one from Asia. It has bigger ears. An Asian elephant is
also called an Indian elephant. The male elephant is called a bull, and the
female a cow. Bulls live alone or in small groups. Cows live in herds with
