the growth of plant species on earth. Herbivore animals eat plants and carnivores feed
on fl esh of other animals. Thus, they bring balance in nature by their food habits. Some
animals like vultures and crows feed on the dead animals and clean up the environment.

This also helps in maintaining the balance in nature and keeping the environment
healthy.

Absence of any living being may cause imbalance in nature. Therefore, we should be
concerned about protection of all plants and animal species.

Following steps can be adopted to protect the animals.
• Animals feel safe in their natural habitat. Therefore, we should be concerned to

protect the forests, which is home to many animals.

• Avoid cutting trees as much as possible.
• Animals should not be killed or captured for sports and other recreational activities.

• Animals should not be killed for their leather or tusks. We ourselves should avoid

using products made from animal parts to save them.

We keep some animals as pets and farm animals. We should take care of them in the
following ways.

• Provide them suffi cient food and water.

• Provide them a comfortable and clean living condition.

• Maintain their health and hygiene.

• Take them to a veterinary doctor when they fall sick.
Get them vaccinated on time.

• Create awareness among people to not to kill animals.

• Be kind to all animals.
