Some examples of spices

• Plants also give us tea, coff ee, cocoa and sugar. Tea and coff ee are beverages

we like to drink.

We make tea from the dried leaves of a tea plant.

We get coff ee from coff ee beans (seeds of a coff ee plant).

We get cocoa and chocolate from the seeds of a
cacao tree. Cocoa is a dark brown powder that is

made from the roasted and ground seeds of cacao.

We make sugar and jaggery from sugar cane

juice.
