Conversion of improper fraction into mixed fraction

To convert an improper fraction into a mixed fraction, divide the numerator by the denominator to
get the quotient and remainder, and then use the formula given below.
                                                                                Remainder

Conversion of unlike fractions into like fractions

Unlike fractions can be converted into like fractions using the LCM method. To do this, follow the
                    given steps:

Step 1: Find the LCM of the denominators of the given fractions.
Step 2: Find the quotient by dividing the LCM by the denominator of each fraction.

Step 3: Multiply the numerator and the denominator of each fraction by the corresponding quotient.

                                           5 7
Example 11: Reduce and into like fractions.
                                           7 8
                    Solution: LCM of 7 and 8 = 56
                                                                               Denominator
                                   5 5×8
                                     = (56 ÷ 7 = 8)
                                   7 7×8
