            Map

A map shows the location of an object or a place in relation to other objects or places by
using directions and symbols for different landmarks. A building, place, statue, etc. that
is easy to locate and can help us to find our way to a place is called a landmark. We often
use maps to explain or know direction and location of a place.

Let’s learn how to read a map with the help of the following examples.

Example 2: Rahul made the route map to his house from the bus stand for Sohail and
explained it to him. Read the description and answer the questions that follow.
“Walk straight from the bus stand and take the left turn. Again walk straight
till you reach the milk booth. From there, take a right turn and walk straight

to reach the nursing home. From the nursing home, take a right turn and then
turn left along the park. The fourth house from the park is my house.”
