What To Do?
To use abacuses to form and add numbers
What We Need?
Six abacuses with beads of three different colours
How To Do?
• Divide the class into 2 teams.
• Give each team three abacuses and beads of three colours.
• Write an addition sum on the board, say, 196 + 217.
• Each group will form the numbers 196 and 217 on two abacuses.
• On the third abacus, they will form the sum.
• The team which finishes first with the right answer will get a point.
• Repeat with more addition sums without grouping.
• The team with more points will be the winner.
