Speaking
Group Discussion
Severn says she lives the ‘privileged life’ in Canada. Refl ect on your own lifestyle on the following
lines.
• Do you think you too lead a privileged life?
• How can you share your privileges with people who do not have them?
• Will sharing your privileges with others harm you in any way, or will it make the world a better
place to live in? How?
• In an ideal world where everyone is equally privileged, do you think human beings will be
content with their lives or will they continue to ruin the environment because of their greed
for more? Give reasons.
Make groups of three-four students each. Each group should discuss all these points taking not less
than twenty minutes. Write down the answers that your group reaches with respect to the questions
above. Combine these answers to conclude your discussion and make sure it conveys the group’s
opinion clearly. Any one member should then read the conclusion to the class.
