The letter s is used in two ways with nouns:
                        •  It is simply added to some nouns to show their plural forms.

                               cats  persons  balls  aeroplanes

                        •  It is added with an apostrophe (’) to nouns to show possession or belonging.

                               my   sister’s cat    Anushka’s car    that man’s daughter

                      To show possession with plural nouns, we add s for showing plurality and then an
                    apostrophe to show possession.
                       the kids’ toys  the cats’ kittens    the doctors’ patients



                     C.  Use apostrophes wherever required.


                            1.  All the dogs in my colony are friendly.
                            2.  The second groups presentation was the best.

                            3.  That is my uncles shop. His name is Murali.

                            4.  Two of my friends live in this building.

                            5.  Razias performance was great last night.
                            6.  My grandparents house is in Hubli.

                            7.  The brothers schoolbags were of the same colour.

                            8.  The queens crown looked magnificent.

                    Conjunc  ons

                    Conjunctions are joining words. They join words, phrases or sentences. Some common
                    conjunctions are and, or, but and because.

                        • We    use and to join two words, phrases or sentences.

                              The children were inside the car. Benny was inside the car.

                             The children and Benny were inside the car.
                        • We    use but to link words or sentences that are opposite to each other.

                               She is smart. She is lazy.

                               She is smart but lazy.

                        • We    use or to suggest an option between two choices.

                              Would you like to have tea? Would you like to have coffee?
                              Would you like to have tea or coffee?
