Present Tense
Read the following sentences.
1. Bunu pushes the tooth with her tongue.
2. I sleep on a bed.
3. She stands on the chair.
4. Bunu and Chunnu sit on the floor.
5. They live in Sikkim.
The verbs pushes, live, runs, sit, sleep, pulls and stands tell us about actions
that happen now (in the present time). They are in the present tense.
We add -s or -es to some verbs if we use them with she, he, it, or any
one person or thing.
We do not add -s or -es to the verbs if we use them with I, you, we,
they, or more than one person or thing.
Some verbs are given in the box below. Fill in the blanks with the
correct forms of these verbs to show that the ac ons happen now.
