Each group works hard. They clean the walls and sweep the floor. Then

they dust the chairs and desks. Some students collect litter from the floor
and throw it in the dustbin. Soon, the class is neat and clean. The teacher

is very happy. He tells them that they have all won the competition.

The students take a short break. They wash their hands and eat their

lunch. Then they go out of the classroom to clean the corridor . It is full
of waste paper and bits of food. The students throw all the waste in a
basket. Soon they finish cleaning. They take off their gloves and aprons.

Then they walk to the main hall of the school. The whole school is

there.

‘Are you tired?’ asks the principal. ‘Yes, ma’am,’ reply all the students.

‘The helpers of our school work hard like this every day. Let us all thank

them,’ says the principal.

She calls some students onto the stage. They give gifts to all the helpers.

Everyone claps. Then they say together, ‘Thank you for keeping our
school clean.’

The helpers have tears of joy in their eyes.
