Example 33: Simplify (264 ÷ 3 + 132) – 108 × 2 + (100 ÷ 20).

Solution: (264 ÷ 3 + 132) – 108 × 2 + (100 ÷ 20) (Simplify within each bracket first.)

= (88 + 132) – 108 × 2 + 5
= 220 – 108 × 2 + 5 (multiply)
= 220 – 216 + 5 (subtract)

= 4 + 5 = 9

Example 34: Simplify (75 ÷ 5) + 2,814 × 12 – (349 – 86) Working
Solution: (75 ÷ 5) + 2,814 × 12 – (349 – 86) 1

= 15 + 2,814 × 12 – 263 2 8 1 4
