Word Problems on Addition and Subtraction
Example 12: The population of a town is 12,48,934. If 57,500 more people come to the
town, what will be the new population of the town?
1 1 1
Solution: Present population of the town = 1 2, 4 8, 9 3 4
Number of people who come to the town = + 5 7, 5 0 0
New population of the town = 1 3, 0 6, 4 3 4
Thus, new population of the town is 13,06,434.
