VALUES AND LIFE SKILLS

              1. A shopkeeper has 168 eggs. He wants to pack them, 6 in each box. How many

boxes does he require? Which nutrient you get from eggs?
              2. There are 6 lanes in a swimming pool. Everyday 132 children come for swimming.

If equal number of children swim in each lane, how many children swim in each
lane? What things do you need to keep in mind while swimming?

                                       SCRATCH YOUR BRAIN

              1. Write the sign (+, –, ×, ÷) to make the statement true.

                   (a) 18 ÷ (34 17) = 9 (b) (90 ÷ 10) 1 = 10

                   (c) 49 (8 × 5) = 9 (d) 1 × (70 7) = 10

                   (e) (64 5) ÷ 69 = 1 (f) 84 – (9 9) = 3

                  (g) 12 (36 ÷ 12) = 9 (h) 15 + (25 5) = 20

                   (i) 99 ÷ (36 4) = 11 (j) 4 + (12 3) = 40

                   (Hint: Solve brackets first)

              2. Complete the pattern.

                   9 ÷ 3 = 90 ÷ 3 = 900 ÷ 3 =

              3. A cake is to be cut into 8 equal pieces. You can make only
3 cuts. How can this be done?
