            Fraction of a Collection

Look at the flowers given alongside. There Remember
are 3 flowers out of which one is red and
2 are yellow. So, we say that one-third of Fraction of a collection
the flowers are red and two-thirds of the means a part of the
                         flowers are yellow. whole group.

In the picture given alongside, we can see 4 birds
sitting on a tree. Three birds are green and one is
blue. So, we can say that three-fourths of the birds
are green and one-fourth is blue.

                                                      EXERCISE 7.3

              1. Write the fraction represented by the following coloured figures.
