Face Value and Place Value


            We already know how to find the face value and place value of a digit in a given
            number. Let’s revise it with the help of an example.

                                          The face value of 9 is 9.

                                          The place value of 9 is 9 ones or 9.



                                          The face value of 4 is 4.

                                          The place value of 4 is 4 tens or 40.


                                          The face value of 8 is 8.

                                          The place value of 8 is 8 hundreds or 800.
