Let’s Recall …
A clock face has markings for hours and minutes. The markings
with numbers 1, 2, 3, . . . , 10, 11, 12 are hour markings. The
smaller markings between two hour markings are the minute
markings.
A clock face has two hands. The smaller hand is the hour 11 12 1
hand and the longer hand is the minute hand. 10 2

Time is read in hours and minutes. For example, if the hour 8 4
hand is at 5 and the minute hand is at 12, we write 5:00 or 7 6 5
5 o’clock.
