Transparent materials are those materials that allow light to pass through them easily.
Air, clear water, glass, clear plastic and crystal are some examples of transparent
materials.

Translucent materials are those materials that allow only a little amount of light to pass
through them. Butter paper, coloured plastic, tissue paper, frosted glass, thin cloth
and sunglasses are examples of translucent materials. These materials can be either
colourless or lightly coloured.

Opaque materials are those materials that do not allow any light to pass through them.
Wood, metal, book, cardboard, wall, our body and stone are some examples of such
materials.
