                                                                                        1 m

                                                                                                    8 cm

                                                                                         4 cm 9 cm
                                 4 m 5 m

                      2. Find the perimeter of a square with side length 18 m.
                      3. If the perimeter of a square field is 192 m, find the length of its side. Also find the cost of fencing
a side of the square field at the rate of ` 11 per metre.
                      4. Find the length of the side of a square whose perimeter is equal to the perimeter of a rectangle
                        with:
                        (a) length = 26 cm, breadth = 30 cm (b) length = 19 m, breadth = 21 m

                      5. Find the perimeter of a rectangle whose length is 36 cm and breadth is half of the length.
                      6. A field is rectangular in shape with breadth 15 m and length 21 m. Find the cost of fencing the
field at the rate of ` 55 per metre.
                      7. Rahul walks around a rectangular park of length 100 m and breadth 50 m. Rohan walks twice
around a square park of side 45 m. Who covers more distance?

                      8. How much distance does Tina have to walk to go around a triangular field with sides 4 m, 12 m and
                        15 m?
                      9. Find the perimeter of:
                        (a) a scalene triangle with sides 7 cm, 8 cm and 9 cm

                        (b) an equilateral triangle of side 2.4 m
                        (c) an isosceles triangle with equal sides of 12 cm each and the third side 9 cm
                     10. A field is in the shape of an equilateral triangle with side 120 m. If Sonali walks twice around
the field, find the distance covered by her.

                     11. The longest side of a triangle is 26 m. Its perimeter is 55 m and its shortest side is half of its
longest side. Find the length of its third side.
                     12. The perimeter of an equilateral triangle is 440 m. Find the length of the side of a square whose
perimeter is equal to the perimeter of the given equilateral triangle.

                    Area

Every closed figure encloses some region by its boundary. Area of a closed figure is the surface or
region enclosed by its boundary. Area is measured in square units.
