Classification and Comparison of Data
Data classification can be defined as the process of organizing data into relevant groups
or categories. This makes it easier to find, compare and compile data. We can classify the
given data on the basis of some common features like colour, type, size, shape, etc.
To classify data, we first think of different categories into which the data can be organized.
Then, we place the data under the most suitable categories and compare it.
Example 4: For the class party, Rashi’s group has to bring fruits and desserts for the whole
class. She collects data of the favourite fruits and desserts of her classmates
as given below. Classify the given data using tally marks and compare whether
the children like more of fruits or desserts.
