EVERYTHING FOR THE BEST

                           The to-infinitive is a non-finite form of a verb. (Refer to the grammar section in Chapter 3). One
                           of the most common uses of the to-infinitive is to show purpose, as in the examples above. In
                           those examples, the to-infinitive answers the question ‘why’.

                     D5    Read the following passage. Fill in the blanks using suitable to-infinitives of the verbs given in
                           the box.
