ANAND MAHANAND is Professor, Department of
Materials Development, Testing and Evaluation, the
English and Foreign Languages University (formerly
Central Institute of English and Foreign Languages),
Hyderabad. His research areas include syllabus and
materials development, language through literature,
and English for academic purposes.
BEENA SUGATHAN was a senior teacher of English
with more than two decades of experience, and
a member of the NCERT textbook development
team. As an ELT author she has published several
language coursebooks and grammar textbooks,
besides developing online educational material.
The late BRINDER AULAKH was a teacher trainer and
materials producer. She developed materials for
teaching phonetics, grammar and methodology
for primary, secondary and tertiary levels. Her
publications include Teaching Nursery Rhymes and
A Remedial Grammar for Primary School Teachers and
numerous articles on ELT. She was the director
of the Regional Institute of English, Chandigarh.
Her qualifications included M.A. English (Delhi),
M.A. Linguistics (Delhi), M.A. Applied Linguistics
(Reading, UK), M.Phil. Semiotics (Paris), B.Ed.
(Punjab), PGCTE (CIEFL, Hyderabad), PGDTE
(CIEFL, Hyderabad), Cert. English Language
(Rajasthan & British Council), Cert. Linguistics,
Statistics and ELT (UGC & Mysore).
CHERYL JACOB was educated at St Stephen’s
College (Delhi), Delhi School of Economics and
Dr B.R. Ambedkar University Delhi. Pursuing
her interest in the English language and literature,
she completed CELTA from British Council. She
has taught at the British School, Jesus and Mary
College, Ambedkar University Delhi, and at the
Ardee School.
GITA NATH has over 25 years of experience in
teaching English. She has been the Head of the
Department, English, at Apeejay School, Noida,
and Vice Principal at Apeejay International School,
Greater Noida. She is currently an English and soft-
skills trainer, and ELT author.
ILLA VIJ is a teacher trainer and presenter for the
British Council and the University of Cambridge.
An English teacher with more than 26 years of
experience, she has been a CBSE examiner, and has
several publications in ELT.
K.E. SUNIL completed his M.A. in English and
M.Phil. in English Language Teaching from
the Central Institute of English and Foreign
Languages (now the English and Foreign Languages
University), Hyderabad. He has offered a course
in academic writing for the International Training
Programme at the Central Institute of English
and Foreign Languages and has worked on the
Multilingual Dictionary Project at the Regional
Institute of English, Bengaluru. His areas of interest
include syllabus design, materials production, and
language testing and evaluation. Sunil is presently
a lecturer at Vidyaniketan Pre-university College,
Ullal, Bengaluru.
M. MANGALAPRATHABAN runs the ESL Consultancy
and Corporate Training Fluency Centre in
Coimbatore. Educated at the Central Institute of
English and Foreign Languages (now the English
and Foreign Languages University), Hyderabad,
and Bharathiar University, Coimbatore, he is an
ELT consultant, curriculum designer and teacher
trainer.
