Characteristic Features of the Shadow

To study the direction and length of shadow at diff erent times of the day (Try at home)

You Need:

A long rod and a measuring tape
What to Do:

1. Take a long rod and measure its length.
2. Fix it in the soil in an open ground or park.

3. Observe the direction of the sun, and the direction and length of the shadow in the morning
at 7 am, at noon at 1 pm and in the evening at 5 pm.
4. Record your observations in the table given below.
