P. 86
Example 6: A person deposits ` 15,000 in a bank and gets 10% of the amount as interest at the end of the
year. How much money will he have in his bank account after 2 years?

Interest earned at the end of 1st year = 10% of ` 15,000
10
= 100 × ` 15,000 = ` 1,500
∴ Total money in bank after 1 year = ` (15,000 + 1,500) = ` 16,500
10
Interest earned at the end of 2nd year = 10% of ` 16,500 = 100 × ` 16,500 = ` 1,650

Error 40
∴ Percentage error = Actual value × 100% = 200 × 100% = 20%
