1. A shopkeeper bought locks at the rate of 6 locks for ` 255 and sold them at the rate of 8 locks for ` 380.
Find his profit per cent.
2. On selling tea at ` 180 per kg, a shopkeeper loses 10%. Find the quantity of tea sold if the total loss
incurred is ` 100.
3. Ravi sold his car to Sunil at a loss of 28%. Sunil spent ` 5,040 on its repairs and sold the car to Rahul

for ` 1,07,730, thereby making a profit of 12 % . Find the cost of the car for Ravi.

4. Rahul bought two televisions for ` 30,000. By selling one at a loss of 15% and the other at a gain of 19%,
he found that the selling price of both the televisions is the same. Find the cost price of each television.
5. Find a single discount equivalent to three successive discounts of 10%, 5% and 4%.
6. Find the selling price of an article whose list price is ` 9,781.50 and which is sold after three successive

9. Rama purchased a second-hand car for ` 95,650. He spent ` 12,000 on its repairs and accessories. He
also paid an insurance amount of ` 2,350. He then sold it to his friend for ` 1,21,000. Find his profit or
loss per cent. What things should we always check before buying second-hand vehicles?

3. Jignesh fixes the sale price of his mobiles at 15% above the cost price. He sells all his mobiles at 12%
less than the fixed price. What is his profit per cent?
