Top Tip
There is an easy way to remember which months have how many days.
Fold the fi ngers of one hand to form a fi st. Start counting months from the
knuckle of your little fi nger.
April November
The knuckles are months with 31 days. March May October December
The gaps between two knuckles are months February June September
with 30 days. February is an odd month with January July August
28 or 29 days.
On reaching the knuckle of the pointer fi nger
for July, go to the knuckle of the pointer of the
right hand. It will now be August. Count till December.

• There are 365 days in a year with February having 28 days.
One year has 12 months. There are 4 weeks and a few days in a month.
A year has 52 weeks and 1 day.
