Thomas Alva Edison

Thomas Alva Edison (1847 - 1931) was an American inventor who held a world record of 1093 patents singly or jointly. Out of his various inventions one was phonograph. This device could record sound and play it back.The name phonograph derived as ‘phono’ means ‘sound’ and ‘graph’ means ‘instrument for recording’.
