Anders Celsius

Anders Celsius (1701–1744) was a Swedish astronomer, physicist and mathematician. He invented one of the most common temperature scale called Celsius scale. It is based on boiling and melting points of water. Celsius originally called his scale centigrade that means ‘hundred steps’ in Latin. Originally, this scale was the reverse of today’s scale. This scale was adopted as the standard throughout the world and is used in almost all scientific work
